English Walnut series is a metal siding that is designed to look like dark walnut wood. It is low maintenance because you do not have to stain, paint, or seal metal, it is easy to install with concealed fasteners, it looks authentic from both up close or from a distance. This is achieved by using four different wood grain patterns to eliminate repetative pattern. Painted timber is waterproof and rot resistant and makes a great barrier from bugs, pests, termites, and birds because they cannot penetrate the metal material. Painted timber is fire resistant and non-conbustible. These panels are sustainable, made from recycled material and is recyclable.

Interactions with other metal roof systems can lead to early degradation, staining, and patential failure fo a system. Galvalume® in contact with copper, lead, bricks, treated lumber, iron and concrete and introduced to elctrolytes like water can lead to galvanic corrosion of the metal.

Galvalume® can scuff off the arcylic coating in high traffic areas. Once the coating is scuffed the panel will have to be replaced. If not replaced the metal can become splotchy at the exsposed parts of roof from age and weather quicker.

Oil canning is an inherent characteristic of light-gauge, cold formed metal products. Oil canning is only an asthetic concern that does not affect the strength or performance. For more information on oil canning visit www.briggssteel.com/what-is-oil-canning
